About us

I am a mama to two beautiful children. I am a local Chicago native with dreams of getting out of the city. My husband is a blue collar city worker - we have been together for over 10 years. He has been my biggest supporter and you’ll often find him helping to cut fabric and he has even taken up using the sewing machine!

I started this business in the summer 2022 after realizing how much money I was spending on headbands from other companies.

I have always struggled with hair loss - starting at 12 years old. I had an anxiety disorder called “trichotillomania” in which I pulled my hair out excessively leading to bald spots. It would get worse when I was experiencing a lot of trauma or stress. I was always wearing headbands or bandanas to hide the damage.

Later on, I was able to manage this compulsive disorder with therapy and stress management, however I experienced more hair loss after my first pregnancy in 2016. I not only had postpartum hairloss, but hormonal alopecia - I was back to experiencing bald spots and insecurity…more headbands.

My hair grew back, but my headband days were not over as I got pregnant again in 2020 and the hormonal alopecia returned, and so did my bald spots.

I decided that since it seemed that hairloss was going to be a permanent part of my life, I was going to start making my own headbands; ones that were comfortable, stylish, and versatile. That’s how Moon Loops Co. was created.

Since the start of my business my youngest was diagnosed with autism, which is an even bigger motivator for me to be able to be home with him. I have become an advocate and engulfed in the autism community.

My goal is to help other women who are needing or wanting something that can help them get their confidence back. These products aren’t just for women who need to conceal hair loss, but also for the busy mom who tends to put herself last, pushing hair wash day off for way too many days or finds herself 4 months past her root touch up.

I am here to help and I hope that you can feel my passion behind your screen!

Thank you so much for being here 🫶🏼

SIZING

  • Headbands come in two sizes: petite and standard.
  • Standard size headbands are a one size fits most women option - they are sewn to 9 inches and fit most adults with a 20-21.5" head circumference.
  • Petite headbands are great for toddlers and young girls. Some women prefer the petite size for themselves if they find they have a head on the smaller size. They are two inches smaller in width and length than the standard size.
  • KNOTTYS are available in both standard and petite size, however they are semi-adjustable so that you can loosen or tighten them to your perfect fit.
  • All fabrics are hand cut and hand sewn, so some sizing may very. Fabric materials very, so I try my best to keep size consistent. Some fabrics you’ll find tend to stretch more than others, so fit will be a little different. Your headband is made to stretch, so don’t be afraid to do just that.

RETURNS

  • due to the nature of the product, no returns will be accepted unless by some chance the item is damaged. All returns will be processed on a case by case basis. You must contact us within 5 days of receiving your order.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

  • You can machine wash your headbands on a delicate cycle. I recommend removing the bow so that it doesn’t get lost. Laying flat to dry will keep your headband in its best shape.

SHIPPING

  • All orders are processed within 7-10 business days (sometimes earlier) - this does not include weekends, holidays, or transit time. Once your package is dropped off at the post office, it is out of my hands. If for some reason your package gets lost by USPS, the first step will be to contact them and file a missing package form. Please reach out to me via email if you need any assistance.
